Up to 20% of the population may have worthless insurance cover! It is always a condition of any insurance policy that criminal convictions are disclosed to insurers, it does not matter whether they specifically ask you or not, you must disclose otherwise the insurance contract is NULL & VOID and any claims will not be paid.
Perhaps the buying public are not aware of this particularly as insurance bought online or from mrtgage lenders skirts around this issue but if you buy that sort of policy you are just wasting money ! When online always check out the Policy Document before buying.

You may they feel that when you disclose convictions the premiums will increase drasticaly. Also you must remember this does not just apply to the policyholder but also any family
member who resides in the home and has a criminal conviction.

Knowledgable help is often available from specialist insurers who deal with less than usual risks on a daily business, such as Adrian Flux Insurance. They can usually off a more understanding service and will quote for most convictions, and in some cases clients find that they can pay less
once they disclose convictions than they were paying before disclosure.
Adrian Flux can be contacted on 0800 089 0184.
